“Little Shop of Horrors” Audrey II puppet
Project Details:
Timeline: January - May 2024
Medium: 3D sculpture + Multi-media
This work was a collaborative project where I worked with a group of other designers to imagine, research, design and construct the Audrey II props for SCAD’s showcase of “Little Shop of Horrors” directed by Christian Delacroix.
Personally, I worked a lot on the final form of the plant, constructing the foam shell mouth pieces with a small group of other teammates. My group and I cut and shaped the foam and then painted and textured the mouth as well as leaves.
Below are my personal sketches and designs for my vision of Audrey II. I initially proposed the idea of a nontraditional Audrey II puppet in which the mouth seperated four ways rather than two. I thought this would make the creature look more plant like and the symmetry would shock viewers.
