This rendering depicts my concept for a set or backdrop of a themed universe set in the future. The city shown here is the beautiful, Chalet town of Zermatt, Switzerland. I had the amazing opportunity to visit Zermatt in the Winter of 2022. I fell in love with the classic chalet-style buildings that sit quietly beneath the towering Matterhorn. 
This work is quite closely based on multiple images (featured below). 

I wanted to preserve the classic design of the city whilst modernizing the materials and shapes of their buildings. The gondola was a key aspect of the city when I visited, so I felt it only fair to feature it as a  futuristic pod that travelst through the city. The beautiful Matterhorn in the background, to me, looked like a perfect spot to fit a massively powerful space lazer.
